Getting Ready for Winter

There are many things you can do to help keep your winter heating bills down.  First and foremost, make sure your heaters are cleen and free of dust.

If you have baseboard heating, vacuum all the fins.  Dust and pet hair can prevent the free flow of air through the fins.  That means the furnace or boiler has to stay on longer to heat the room.  That costs more money.

Clean or replace your furnace filters.  That allows more air to move through them which means more warm air goes into the room.

If you have a gas furnace or boiler, make sure you have a spare ignitor.  I your furnace, boiler or water have a thermocouple, make sure you have a spare one of those also.

Have a warm and happy winter.
